Scubaspa Zen, 48m dive & spa phinisi: 18 guests, 9 cabins, 23 crew, dhoni dive boat, from $81,900/week + expenses. In Raja Ampat November to April.
Scubaspa Zen is a 48.3-metre dive and spa phinisi chartering in Raja Ampat for up to 18 guests in 9 cabins, run by an exceptional crew of 23, from $81,900 per week plus expenses. Built in Bulukumba in 2013 and refitted in 2020, she is purpose-designed around two ideas most yachts treat as opposites: serious diving and serious relaxation. Every Zen charter is arranged end to end by our Bali-based concierge desk, operated by Komodo Luxury, part of Juara Holding Group since 2015.

Most liveaboards ask you to choose a personality: expedition workhorse or floating retreat. Scubaspa Zen was conceived so nobody has to choose. One half of her identity is a fully organised dive operation with its own dedicated dhoni dive boat, meaning tanks, compressors and briefings live on a separate hull and the mother ship stays serene. The other half is a genuine onboard spa, with interiors by Motiv Studio that lean calm and contemporary rather than nautical-thematic.
The number that explains the experience is the crew count: 23 crew for a maximum of 18 guests. That better-than-one-to-one ratio is flagship-class staffing at a mid-fleet rate, and it shows everywhere — dive marshals who know your camera setup by day two, therapists who schedule treatments around your surface intervals, and a galley that treats a post-dive appetite as a professional challenge.
At 441 gross tons on a 9.4-metre beam, Zen carries her guests in real volume. The sun deck, sunpads and shaded lounges give eighteen people room to disperse, and kayaks and paddleboards launch straight from the stern for the hours between dives.
Zen works the classic Indonesian rotation between her two listed hot spots: Raja Ampat in the November–April season and Komodo from May to October. Raja Ampat conditions peak October to April.
| Season | Cruising area | Weekly rate |
|---|---|---|
| November–April | Raja Ampat | From $81,900 per week + expenses |
| May–October | Komodo | From $81,900 per week + expenses |
| December–March peak | Raja Ampat | Fleet-wide premiums of 10–20% apply; book 9–12 months ahead |
Rates verified August 2026. Expenses cover fuel, provisioning and Raja Ampat Marine Park entry fees (currently around IDR 700,000–1,000,000 per person per year; verify at booking), plus cruising and village fees per itinerary. The Raja Ampat charter cost guide explains the plus-expenses model in detail.
Zen’s natural Raja Ampat programme is a seven-night northern circuit weighted toward the Dampier Strait’s dive density: Arborek and Manta Sandy, Sardine Reef and Blue Magic, Cape Kri at slack tide, then Penemu’s Melissa’s Garden, the Piaynemo lookout and a Wayag finale before returning via The Passage to Sorong. Divers log the icons; the spa handles everything the current takes out of you. The full route is mapped on our northern loop itinerary, and 10–12 night combinations can add Misool’s southern reefs.
This is one of the fleet’s most complete diving platforms in the world’s richest reef system — the Bird’s Head Seascape counts more than 1,700 fish species and over 550 corals. Expect Cape Kri, where a single dive famously produces record species counts, oceanic mantas at Blue Magic, and the orderly queue etiquette of Manta Sandy’s cleaning station. The dhoni takes divers out while non-divers keep the mother ship: spa sessions, paddleboard laps of the anchorage, village visits and karst hikes coordinated by the crew.
Zen’s Raja Ampat rotations embark in Sorong via Domine Eduard Osok Airport (SOQ), about four hours nonstop from Jakarta with connections through Makassar, Manado and Bali. Dive charters travel heavy — camera cases, regulators, wing sets — so our concierge handles the whole chain: airport meet-and-greet, luggage straight to the tender, marine-park entry PIN cards and cruising permissions completed before boarding, nitrox and equipment requests briefed to the dive team in advance. Certification cards, insurance details and last-dive logs are collected during pre-departure planning from Bali, which means check-out dives happen on day one rather than paperwork. The same desk has coordinated 800-plus voyages across the network since 2015 for guests from more than 45 countries; a dive group’s logistics are its native language.
For the May–October half of the year, the identical machine runs in Komodo — and twice a year the crossing between the two parks becomes a charter in itself, a multi-day passage through the Banda Sea that serious divers plan whole years around.
From $81,900 per week plus expenses, verified August 2026 — the same base rate across low and high season, which makes her one of the strongest value propositions among large dive phinisi. Peak holiday weeks carry fleet-standard premiums.
The combination of a dedicated dhoni dive boat, a real onboard spa and a 23-strong crew for 18 guests. Dive logistics stay off the main deck, and the service ratio exceeds most flagships.
Absolutely — that is the design brief. While divers are out on the dhoni, non-divers have the spa, sun deck, kayaks and paddleboards, plus village and viewpoint excursions arranged by the concierge.
November to April, matching the park’s prime season; she spends May to October in Komodo. April/May and October/November crossings between the parks can be chartered as repositioning voyages — ask the desk.
Tell us your dates, certification levels and group mix, and the concierge desk will confirm availability, assign dive guides and build the routing. For a classic-phinisi alternative at similar scale, compare Dunia Baru, or review the complete Raja Ampat charter fleet.
