The Departure Point

Sorong Yacht Charter — Where Raja Ampat Charters Depart

Two phinisi lit up at anchor at dusk

Sorong in one paragraph

Board here and you skip the ferry entirely

Sorong is the mainland town every Raja Ampat charter passes through — a domestic airport, a working harbour, and about ten kilometres of road between them. Vessels based at Pelabuhan Rakyat Sorong take you aboard the same morning you land and steam north overnight. Vessels based in Waisai, the administrative capital out on Waigeo, need a two-hour ferry first — and the ferry sails once a day.

On a seven-night charter that difference is most of a day. On a four-night charter it is a quarter of the trip.

Board From Sorong

Tell us your arrival time and we will tell you which vessels can take you that day

Not every vessel is based in Sorong, and the ones that are do not all board at the same hour. It is a short list on any given date, and we would rather give you the real one than a general answer.
