How It Works
Every visitor over 12, diver or not. Snorkellers, non-swimmers and guests who never leave the yacht all require the permit.
Twelve months from the date of purchase, with unlimited entries in that window. A second charter inside the year needs no second permit.
A physical card carried for the duration of your stay. Rangers check it at the marine park boundaries and at some village landings.
A marine protected area network of roughly two million hectares — ranger patrols, mooring buoys and the village-level conservation agreements behind them.
Where To Buy
The simplest route. Send passport details with your booking and the cards are ready when you land — no queue, no office visit, nothing to organise on arrival.
The official BLUD UPTD portal. Buy it yourself if you prefer; bring the confirmation and photo ID with you.
The Raja Ampat Marine Park Authority office in Waisai issues cards over the counter. Adds time to a travel day.
A counter near the ferry ticketing office now issues permits too, which suits guests boarding directly in Sorong.
