Non-Divers, Summed Up

Roughly a third of charter guests don't dive — and they're fully looked after

A private charter is the ideal setup for groups with mixed interests. When the divers head underwater, everyone else follows a matching itinerary of snorkelling, kayaking, hiking, cultural visits, and onboard wellness — aboard the same boat, with the same crew, and nothing left out. Kids aged 8 and up are welcome, with activities and supervision suited to their age.

On the Water and Ashore

Six things to do while the divers are underwater

Snorkel drops

The very same colourful reefs, just 1–4m down. Try the Mansuar shallows, the Friwen jetty, or the Wai island fringe — coral here holds its own against any deeper site.

Kayak + paddleboard

Paddle the Wayag karst lagoons, weave through Misool mangroves, and seek out tucked-away coves. We handle the tender drop-off and pickup.

Karst hiking

Climb to the Wayag viewpoint for that famous panorama, or trek the Misool jungle to ancient rock-art sites. A local guide comes along.

Jellyfish lake snorkel

Swim with stingless jellyfish in a landlocked saltwater lake (Karawapop, on the south loop only). An enchanting hour in the water.

Topside photography

Aerial drone passes over Wayag, sunrise compositions, and village portraits taken with local permission.

Onboard wellness

In-cabin spa massage on the luxury tier, a yoga deck for early-morning practice, and sound healing aboard select vessels.

Kids & Teens

Family activities from age 8 and up

Bubblemaker (8+)

A PADI taster of scuba at pool depth, run in the onboard pool or a shallow lagoon and led by a certified instructor.

Open Water cert (12+)

The complete PADI Open Water course over four days, with certification dives in Dampier. Instructor and all materials are provided aboard.

Marine life education

Junior naturalist workshops, lessons on manta and shark behaviour, and citizen-science logging with Manta Trust.

Treasure hunts

Treasure hunts on empty sandbars, beach picnics, and traditional Papuan craft sessions with local makers.

Cultural Exchange

More than just the reef

Village visits

Stop at Arborek, Sawandarek, and Yenbuba for genuine, respectful encounters with Papuan communities. A local guide handles the protocol.

Carving demonstrations

Watch traditional wood carving and bark-cloth weaving at Sawandarek. Buying directly puts money straight in the artisans' hands.

Bird-of-paradise hike

A before-dawn forest walk on Waigeo with a local guide, timed for the Wilson's and Red BOP courtship displays.

Beach barbecue

A private setup on an empty beach where the chef cooks ashore for a sunset dinner, arranged around the vessel's anchorage.
