About Damai II

A boutique dive Phinisi with a camera room on board

Damai II was built in 2011 at Tanjung Bira, South Sulawesi, by the renowned boat-builder Pak Hadji Baso — an evolution of its predecessor, with more comfort and more room to work. At 43 metres it is a boutique liveaboard: seven en-suite cabins for 12 guests (14 on private charters), a crew of 18, and three outdoor decks for dining, lounging and spa treatments. The dive setup is the point of the boat — spacious stations, larger rinse tanks, a professional-grade camera room, and a 4:1 diver-to-guide ratio.

Charters depart from Sorong, with the best conditions in Raja Ampat between October and April.

Charter Price

Whole-yacht charter rate

Current Rate

From USD 6,850

per night, whole yacht

Unlike most of the fleet, this rate is not all-inclusive. It covers the vessel, crew, meals, unlimited diving with tanks and weights, land tours and transfers within 20 km — but port and harbour fees (USD 25–40 per night), national park fees, Nitrox, dive and snorkel gear hire, laundry and massages after the first are charged separately. Budget for those when comparing it against an all-inclusive yacht.

Common Questions

Before you charter Damai II

How much does it cost to charter Damai II?

From USD 6,850 per night for the whole yacht.

Why is the nightly rate lower than the other yachts in the fleet?

Because it is priced differently, not because less is on board. Most of the fleet quotes an all-inclusive rate; Damai II charges the charter separately from port and harbour fees (USD 25–40 per night), national park fees, Nitrox, dive and snorkel gear hire, laundry, and massages after the first. Budget for those on top when comparing it against an all-inclusive vessel.

How many guests can Damai II accommodate?

Twelve guests across seven cabins, or up to 14 on a private charter, with a crew of 18. Cabins 5 and 6 have private balconies; 6 and 7 have sea views, and the rest are porthole view.

What is included in the diving?

Air tanks, weight belt and weights, three dive guides plus a cruise director who is a dive instructor, and unlimited dives where the schedule permits — at a 4:1 diver-to-guide ratio. Dive and snorkel gear hire and Nitrox are charged separately, and dive insurance is compulsory.

Is Damai II suited to underwater photographers?

Yes — it carries a professional-grade camera room, spacious dive stations and larger rinse tanks, which is unusual at this size.

What is included in the food and drink?

All meals and drinks on board except wine and spirits, plus one complimentary glass of wine per guest at dinner.

How do I reach the yacht?

Fly into Sorong (SOQ) — direct routes run from Bali, Jakarta, Surabaya and Makassar. Return transfers between the airport or hotel and the vessel are included within 20 km, on embarkation and disembarkation day.
