Tailor-Made Charter

Custom Expeditions

Custom Expeditions, Summed Up

Choose it all yourself — the boat, the course, the crew, the catering

When the usual Northern / Southern / Combined formats aren't enough, we design completely tailor-made expeditions built around photography portfolios, citizen science collaborations, technical diving, company retreats, and learning-focused charters. Tack on regional add-ons (Cendrawasih, Triton, Banda) to stretch your route across more map pins.

The Process

Planning in six clear steps

01

Discovery brief

Tell us your travel dates, who's in the group, your spread of dive certifications, what you want to shoot, any dietary requirements, and the special interests that matter most.

02

60-minute planning call

A video session with your curator to sharpen the brief. Together we line up your wishlist against which vessels are free and the best seasonal timing.

03

Draft itinerary

You receive a day-by-day outline featuring two vessel choices, a fully itemised quote, and clear notes on the trade-offs involved.

04

Iterate + refine

Two revision rounds come standard. We tweak the route, the vessel, the provisioning, any special permits, and photographer extras.

05

Confirm + deposit

A 30% deposit holds your vessel and chosen dates. The itinerary is finalised once that deposit is signed off.

06

Concierge handover

You get a pre-departure briefing 14 days ahead, covering marine park permits, the dietary spreadsheet, and an introductory call with your captain.

Areas of Expertise

Six kinds of charter we tailor

Photography expeditions

Repeat visits to sites timed to the right current windows, dedicated gear setups, and the option of a pro photographer as your mentor.

Citizen science partners

Logging for the Manta Trust, reef monitoring alongside Coral Triangle institutes, and plankton tows run with working researchers.

Tech diving expeditions

Setups for rebreathers, Trimix, and deep wall dives, with helium supplied through Sorong on a 75-day lead.

Birding + naturalist

Birds-of-paradise viewing hides on Waigeo, wallaby sightings, and jungle naturalist guides for those drawn to land-based wildlife.

Corporate retreats

Meeting space, Starlink for hybrid calls, team-building sessions, and formal dining arrangements.

Educational charters

University marine biology trips, photography workshops, and dive certification programmes, each with a bespoke instructor brief.

Regional Add-Ons

Extend into other Indonesian archipelagos

Cendrawasih Bay

+5–7 days

Seek out whale sharks at the bagan platforms — they live here year-round, so encounters in the water are the real thing.

Triton Bay

+4–6 days

Whale sharks, soft coral pinnacles, and jellyfish lakes — calmer than Misool and a firm favourite with photographers.

Banda Sea

+7–10 days

Schooling hammerheads at Manuk and Suangi, dramatic volcanic geology, and the heritage of the old spice route.

Halmahera

+5–8 days

Walking sharks, uncommon nudibranchs, and sultanate history across the North Maluku archipelago.
